Data we handle

Uploaded bills.Medical bills you submit through the bill checker are processed in real time and are not retained on our servers. We do not keep a copy of the bill or its contents after your analysis completes; the analysis happens transiently, and the resulting report lives in your browser. We do not maintain a server-side archive of uploaded bills or the protected health information they may contain. Records uploaded by a law firm through our legal case service are different. They are stored securely in that firm’s case file for as long as needed for the case, under our agreement with the firm.

Account and usage data. If you create an account or use gated features, we store your email address to identify your account and to apply usage limits. We may keep anonymized, aggregate counters (for example, the number of analyses run) to operate and improve the service. These counters are not tied to the contents of any bill.

Information about other people

Our customers may submit information about other people to BillXM, for example people whose medical and billing records are submitted by a law firm for review. We process that information on our customer's behalf and under our agreement with them. If your information was submitted by one of our customers, please contact that organization first. You can also contact us and we will help.

How AI processing works

BillXM's analysis is performed using the Anthropic API (Claude models). When you run an analysis, the relevant content is transmitted to Anthropic for processing and the result is returned to your browser. This processing is transient and is not used by BillXM to build a server-side record of your bill.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use only cookies and browser storage that are strictly necessary for the site to work, such as keeping you signed in and protecting your session. We do not use advertising, cross-site tracking, or session-recording tools.

We measure site traffic with Vercel Web Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not identify individual visitors.

Because we use no non-essential cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner. If that changes, we will ask for your consent before using them.

Your bill report is kept in your browser only for your current visit so you can view it. It is cleared when you close the tab or sign out.

Third-party services

We rely on a small set of reputable service providers to operate BillXM:

• Anthropic: AI analysis via the Anthropic API (Claude models).
• Stripe: payment processing, where applicable. BillXM does not store your full card details.
• Vercel: application hosting and delivery.
• Upstash: usage counters and rate limiting.
• Vercel Web Analytics, for cookieless traffic measurement
• Supabase, for our database, file storage, and sign-in
• Sentry, for error monitoring, configured without session recording and without collecting personal information
• Resend, for delivering contact form messages to our team by email

No sale of personal data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the account data associated with your email address. Because bills submitted through the bill checker are not retained on our servers, there is no stored bill data for us to return or delete. To make a request, contact us at info@celesium.ai.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, and opt out of its sale or use for targeted advertising. We do neither.

To make a request, email info@celesium.ai. We will respond within 45 days.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. We will answer your appeal within 60 days. If you are a Texas resident and are unsatisfied with the result of your appeal, you may contact the Texas Attorney General.

We honor Global Privacy Control signals from your browser as an opt-out request.

Visitors outside the United States

We are based in the United States, and information is processed and stored here. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. These include the right to object to processing and to complain to your local data protection authority. We rely on our legitimate interest in running and securing the service, and on contract where you have an account with us.

Health information

BillXM may involve health or medical billing information you choose to provide. We use it only to deliver the service you asked for. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. AI processing is performed on your behalf only, and your information is not retained for any other purpose. We are not your healthcare provider or health plan.

Children's privacy

BillXM is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please contact us so we can address it.

Not professional advice

BillXM is an informational tool. It is not legal, medical, or financial advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your medical bills.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date below.
