80% of medical bills contain errors.

The hospital sets the price. The insurer sets the discount. Nobody checks the math against what Medicare actually pays. BillXM does — for free, in under three minutes — and hands you the receipts.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is this really free?

Yes. Consumer bill review is free today. We make money from our enterprise products — defense attorneys and (eventually) health plans pay per case or per seat. The consumer flow stays free.

What kind of bills can I analyze?

Any U.S. medical bill — hospital, specialist, lab, urgent care, ED visit, surgery center, imaging center. PDF, photo, or pasted text. Itemized statements work best because they expose every CPT/HCPCS code.

How accurate is the analysis?

Every flagged overcharge is grounded in a published source: CMS Medicare physician fee schedule, FAIR Health benchmarks, or NCCI bundling rules. We show you the source and the math behind every finding so you can verify it yourself.

What happens to my bill data?

We process your bill in memory while we analyze it. The document itself is not retained on our servers after the analysis returns — we only keep deidentified rate snapshots (CPT code, billed amount, hospital name) to improve benchmarks for everyone. Your full report stays in your browser unless you choose to share it.

Do you store my bill?

No. The PDF or photo you upload, and any pasted text, is processed in memory and discarded once your report is ready. Only deidentified rate metadata is kept.

What if my hospital ignores the dispute letter?

The letter we generate cites specific CMS rates and gives the hospital 30 days to respond. If they ignore it, the letter includes escalation paths — your state attorney general's consumer protection division, the BBB, and the CMS No Surprises Act helpline. Most billing offices respond once they see a citation-grounded letter.

Can BillXM negotiate the bill for me?

Not today. We give you the analysis, the script, and the letter — you send it. We're evaluating a higher-touch concierge negotiation product for a future release; the form on /contact is the right place to flag interest.

Do I need an account?

No account needed for the free bill grade. To unlock the full 6-tab report (line items, dispute letter, phone scripts, Ask BillXM follow-up chat) we ask for an email — that's the only gate. No password, no payment.
